Day 5 post - You be the guide.
If you met a time traveler from the future who wanted to see what our current society was like, where would you take them and what things would you show them. Why is what your showing them important and what do you hope they would learn from the experiences?
I would bring the time traveler to my house to show them how people live their everyday lives. The city is also a good representation of our society so I would bring them there too. A museum, aquarium, or zoo are good ideas as well. I hope they learn more good things than bad but I would try my best to give an accurate depiction of today's society.
ReplyDeleteIf I met a time traveler from the future, I would take them to go see live bands that are around during my time. Big musicians that are insanely popular in this time may be legendary in the future, so I would figure out what bands the time traveler likes and take them to go see them live. Also, I would show them some of the latest trends, and tell them why i think some are bad. Hopefully, this will prevent bad trends in future.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all would give the point that he or she should not be coming back themselves because they could drastically change history while attempting to record it. Then I would ask them why they went back to this time because the internet holds most of the knowledge they should need know unless all internet knowledge was somehow destroyed and forgotten and if it was I would tell him or her to go on the computer and just research for a few days.
ReplyDeleteI might tell him or her a little about my personal interests but I would most likely just let him or her observe the current world.
I would show them a conspiracy theory cite. I would do that because i am very invested in conspiracy theories and i think that they are intresting and i would like to confirm the ones that i really like. Like chem trails and other things like organ havesting and other ones.
ReplyDeleteI would show them because they talk a lot about politics and other things that relate to society today and others things. I would also show them in case their time was a ditactorship and everything was monitored and some of the conspiracy theories were relevant to them and could help them. But mostly i would like to show others up in the community because i know more.
If someone from the future were to come and want to learn about our current society I would show them sports games. I would show them this because a lot of the communities in the world revolve on some level around sports. By exposing the time traveler to sporting events you'd be exposing them to the catalyst of some culture and societies.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I would show them would be an American classroom. I would show them this so that they can see the difference between the future education system and our education system
If I met a time traveler from the future who wanted to see what our society was like, I would tell them about our current technologies such as computers and phones. I would also tell them about how some people are denying climate change which could destroy the world such as Donald Trump. I would also, talk about North Korea and how they are launching missiles for some reason. I would also, talk about how the US Government works.
ReplyDeleteIf I met a time traveler from the future, I would show them what the environment is like today and I would show them art from this century. I would show them some of the sights in Seattle, such as the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and other national parks. I would like to see what they think of today's modern art styles and modern artists, such as Jackson Pollock's art and another completely different style from his, hyper-realism art. I think that both the environment today and today's art styles can represent this time period by what the human race has created and accomplished in this time period.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the most important thing I could show them would be the internet. We would spend a load of time there because it would be cheap and really easy. I could tell them most of what defines our society today from the convenience of my own home. Social interaction with other people would require actual integration. That is easy enough though as it's gathered from the convenience of anywhere but my own home. I would definitely take them to try some food because, well, food is tasty. I would also try to take them on some certain weird experiences that are part of our society. Something like skydiving, a really strange idea and also a really unique experience.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the person I'm leading around wouldn't be anything like the person in the "matter of time" Star Trek episode we just watched, cause that guy was patronizing and annoying. But even if whoever it were that kind of person, I would still lead them around. I'd probably prefer to tell them more about the general scope of things that are going on and how the world is reacting to them. I may tell them a bit about Poulsbo and things more close to home for me. IIIIII am sooo parnoid Lionelll.
ReplyDeleteI would tell them a lot about like, humor and how that's evolved, and what people from certain age groups typically find funny. I think that I'd probably do that just because I personally always want to know about what people from the past found funny. I might ask them what they find funny, and see how humor has evolved. If they did tell me, I wouldn't tell anyone else though, cause that's mad janky, and could potentially alter that person's future.

ReplyDeleteI would take he/she/it to the Museum of Flight, the Chuhuli Glass Museum in Seattle, Angelina Park in Suquamish, and downtown Poulsbo. I would take them to these places because I have many childhood memories.
I would show he/she/it my books, movies that I love(especially White Christmas and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and the movie theater(the theater, oh how I love the theater!). I would also show them what people nowadays like for humor and the like. I would show them these things because... why not?
the first thing I would show them would be memes, only the dankest, Next I would tell them about the possible advances in automotive, tech, and other things. I would ask him/her to make Ifunny popular, I would also show him/her the education system, and how standard American schools are (elementary). Also I would show them Kerbal space program just so I could show them a video game.
