Day 12 Post - What do you think?

Do you think time travel is possible?
If so what theory/method do you think best represents how time travel could work and why?
What do you think is the most far fetched theory/method of time travel that you have heard and why?

11 comments:

  1. I do think that time travel is possible. Mostly because there is an infinite amount of realities so that means no matter what time travel has to exist. But in this reality j do not think that time travel exists.
I think that the most farfetched theory I have ever heard was getting hit by a lightning bolt at the right second you can time travel. This is stupid because that just is insane.

  2. I think time travel is possible, but only in the future. I think that the best theory for time traveling is where you travel by getting close to the speed of light. I think the most farfetched theory is the idea that you would be able to instantly open a portal to another moment in time. I believe that time travel requires an enormous amount of energy and that it would take a good amount of time to be able to travel just once.

  3. I Believe that time travel is possible. I think the best theory on how time travel works is the one in the documentary we viewed yesterday in using orbit and speed.

I think the most ridiculous method would be magic like in doctor strange because magic does not exist to our knowledge.

  4. This is Blaire using Lionel's computer.

I do not think time travel is possible. I think that the most far fetched theory/method of time travel is Noah C.'s method of obtaining all the cheese he can so that he can use all the mice to use all the cats to use all the humans to build a time machine. This has too many steps and will take at least a decade, maybe two decades, to do, plus the time to build the machine.

  5. I think that time travel is indeed possible, but it is not a technology that humans will be able to use. The theory of traveling close to the speed of light for a few years has some good evidence behind it and the idea is convincing. The most far fetched theory I have heard was a magical Ferrari that drove through time. I think the person who came up with it was joking.

  6. I think that time travel (to the past) is not possible but, time dilation is real. I think that time dilation makes sense and we have real proof for it. I think that the time travel in the movies where they have a machine that makes no scientific sense such as the Tardis at all is the most far fetched method of time travel because they make no scientific sense.

  7. I think that time travel could be possible if we invested enough time to make it possible. The theory I think best represents how time travel could work is the use of wormholes to go back and forwards in time. If we had the technology to create time travel, I think that if there was a machine made to create small, controlled wormholes to travel though time safely. I think that the most farfetched theory is any form of time travel that involves using radio waves to communicate with the past. Even though this is not technically a theory, it seems to me to be a more fictional method of time travel, although it would be really cool to communicate with the past though radio frequencies.

  8. I do think that time travel is possible. I do however don't think it is achieveable. I don't believe that humans have the capacity to get the technology before the world ends.

I do think that the most logical theory of time travel is the wormhole theory. The only issue is that humans need to learn how to locate and harness these wormholes. I do think that if it were to happen that's the way it would happen.

The most far fetched idea of time travel is the idea of a time machine. I don't think that humans can create a "time vortex". That is purely sci-fi. It is possible but I don't believe it's going to happen.

  9. I think that time travel is possible. Like in Star Trek, the warp drive pulls space around the ship but the ship doesn't have any velocity. So why can't we make a machine that does the same thing with time? that is because we just don't have the understanding of time to develop the technology.

  10. I do think that time travel is possible based off of time dilation which has been proven as far as we know. Simply that time slows or accelerates for a viewer based on their motion. Relative to another viewer. This was mainly what we looked at in the documentaries we watched which is what had the most explanation and proof. I don't really understand why it happens, but it makes sense and seems to have the most scientific background.
I think the craziest theory I heard was when Super Man flew super fast around the world against the rotation of the Earth in order to reverse it, somehow turning back time. Neglecting the fact that he couldn't fly like that, or at all, he would never be able to reverse the rotation of the Earth. Even crazier is that it would turn back time, the Earth spinning doesn't cause all of time to flow.

  11. I'd like to believe that time travel is possible, but I honestly can't think so. It seems like maybe it could work, and maybe we haven't seen anyone from the future because they have a very strict policy against making themselves known to the people in the past. Realistically though, somebody definitely would have broken whatever future time travel laws were put into place, and we would have seen someone by now.

I think by far the most heckin' bogus idea is that someone (like superman, for example) could fly into space, reverse the rotation of the earth, and find themselves back in time. Stupid. That wouldn't work, obviously. You would not go into the past. You would, however, severely damage the weather system, and a lot of vegetation would die.
